COMPLETE ROCK CLIMBING COURSE – SNOWDONIA

This is a combination of our Learn to Lead Climb and our Multi-Pitch Masterclass 2 day courses designed to teach participants a range of skills required to become competent outdoor climbers in both single pitch and multi pitch environments.

This course can be tailored to suit a wide range of abilities. Over 18s only.

Despite being a ‘Zero to Hero’ type course it is not designed for complete novices. Participants should have a familiarity with outdoor trad climbing techniques such as single pitch top rope and bottom rope systems, basic anchor building and abseiling.

The Complete Rock Climber is the perfect follow on from our Beginners Trad Climbing 1 day course or our Single Pitch Climbing 2 day course.

Day 1

10:00am – Meet your instructor

6 hours of rock climbing tuition. Skills covered include recap on anchor building, focusing on different types of gear placement options, multi point belay construction and the importance of directional rope systems. Depending on how much recapping is required, we may finish the day top rope leading.

16:00pm – Depart

Day 2

6 hours of rock climbing tuition. Skills covered include following on from day one with top rope leading, anchor and lead placed gear assessment and eventually committing to an unassisted lead. If time allows, we may also cover some basic single pitch rescue techniques to deal with stuck or injured climbers.

Day 3

10:00am – Meet your instructor

6 hours of multi pitch rock climbing tuition. Skills covered include recap on anchor building, gear placement and multi point belay construction. This is often conducted in an instructor led multi pitch lead climbing scenario. Depending on the level of recapping required, the afternoon may include independent lead climbing in a multi pitch environment with an instructor teaching from a secondary rope system.

Day 4

6 hours of multi pitch rock climbing tuition. Skills covered include following on from day one with unassisted yet supervised, multi-pitch lead climbing. This second day can often include pointers on rope management, and techniques to increase efficiency whilst at belay changeovers. We can also touch on some basic self rescue techniques

Lunch options are available

16:00pm – Depart

  • A private instructor for 4 6-7 hour days
  • All safety equipment including helmets, harnesses and climbing shoes if required
  • Optional packed lunch
