ADVANCED SCRAMBLING COURSE – SNOWDONIA

  • Duration: 2x 6 – 8 hour days
  • Participants – Minimum 1 person. Maximum 3 people
  • Difficulty: Moderate/ Hard
  • Includes food? – Optional

Designed for competent grade 1 scramblers who want to make the transition into exploring the higher grade scrambles, or for those who have completed our Beginners Scrambling 2 day course. This course aims to cover the basic skills required to explore steeper terrain including more advanced route finding, rope work and emergency procedures.

This course can be tailored to groups of most ages and abilities. Minimum age – 8 years old.

Participants should have a good grounding in scrambling and be comfortable moving on grade 1 terrain (eg. Crib Goch, Tryfan’s North ridge etc).

If you have completed our Beginners Scrambling 2 day course, this is the next logical step for progression.

Day 1

10:00am – Meet your instructor and distribute kit (Harnesses, helmets, safety kit)

6 – 7 hours of training, covering the basics required to explore grade 2+ terrain, including techniques such as complex terrain navigation, basic rope work, protecting a second and route finding

16:00 pm – Depart

Day 2

10:00am – Meet your instructor and distribute kit (Harnesses, helmets, safety kit)

6-7 hours of training, recapping on day 1 before increasing the difficulty of the terrain to grade 3/3+. Here we will look at more advanced rope work techniques, rescue procedures and advanced route finding for more complex terrain

16:00 pm – Depart

  • A private instructor for the duration of the course
  • All safety equipment eg. Harness, helmets and all safety kit (Feel free to bring your own helmet and harness if you would prefer)
  • Optional packed lunch

Although lunch is not included as standard, there are 2 packed lunch options available at an extra cost.
