Scrambling Courses

Learn scrambling techniques, snowdonia

Introduction to Scrambling

Walking the line between hill walking and rock climbing can be an exhilarating way to spend the day, but making the transition can be easier said than done. If you are new to the idea of scrambling and everything that goes with it, this one day course is the perfect starting point. With the help of one of our qualified instructors you will cover all of the basics required to take your first steps towards becoming a mountain scrambler.

Advanced Scrambling

If you have a head for heights and have been on exposed mountain ground before then our two day advanced scrambling course is the perfect way to fine tune your scrambling skill set. From route finding to emergency rope work techniques, this course aims to fill in any gaps in your knowledge and skill when it comes to becoming a confident and competent scrambler.

Duration: 2x 6-8 hour days

Rock Climbing Basics

If you are the sort of person that likes to know the ins and outs of the activities you take part in, this is the product for you. With the help of one of our qualified climbing instructors, the aim of this session is to begin building the skill set required to become a safe and competent rock climber.

Advanced climbing skills course, snowdonia

Advanced Climbing Skills

If you have already been on our Rock Climbing Basics course, or if you have already got an understanding of basic climbing techniques including belaying, tying in and risk assessment, then this full-day session is the next logical step. From setting up simple rope systems to working on movement skills, the aim of this session is to get participants to the point where they can climb safely and competently without professional supervision.

Duration: 4-6 hours

Rock Climber Powdering Hands

Rock Rescue

If you have already built up a good base of skill and experience as a rock climber and you are ready to take the next step towards being a competent mountaineer our rock rescue workshop is the course for you. From setting up rescue rope systems to on the spot problem solving, this course is designed to build competence, confidence and skill to deal with even the most complex rescue scenarios in multi pitch rock climbing terrain. 

Duration: 6- 8 hours

Beginners Navigation

If you are new to the concept of navigating using a map and compass or if you feel you need to brush up on your basic navigation skills then this is the course for you. With the guidance of one of our professional instructors you will start from the ground up, covering everything from the basics of map reading to the effective use of a compass.

Much like our Beginner's Navigation course this two day workshop is suitable for people of all abilities. From covering the basics of simple map and compass work, to developing advanced skills for low visibility navigation in complex terrain, this course aims to prepare you for any navigational situation in even the most challenging of conditions.

Expedition Skills

Nothing beats the feeling of heading off into the wilderness for a few days, with everything you need to survive in the bag on your back. This 2 day 2 night course aims to build the skills required to be self sufficient for multiple days in the wild. From expedition planning to camp craft you will learn everything you need to know to plan and carry out your own wilderness expedition.
