COMPLETE SCRAMBLER COURSE – SNOWDONIA

A combination of our 2 day Beginners Scrambling course and our 2 day Advanced Scrambling course. This course is designed for competent hill walkers looking to progress into steeper mountain terrain. Over 4 days, you will experience the full spectrum of scrambling from grade 1 – 3 and learn the skills necessary to safely explore the more technical mountain environment.

This course can be tailored to groups of most ages and abilities. Minimum age – 8 years old.

Participants should have some basic hill walking experience and be comfortable in steep mountain terrain. A good head for heights is essential.

If you have been on one of our Guided Scrambling days previously, this course is the next logical step towards becoming an autonomous scrambler.

A basic understanding of map and compass Navigation will be useful, but not essential.

Day 1

10:00am – Meet your instructor

6 – 7 hours of training, covering the basics required to explore grade 1 terrain, including techniques such as route selection, navigation on steeper terrain and tips for safeguarding others

16:00 pm – Depart

Day 2

10:00am – Meet your instructor and distribute kit (Harnesses, helmets, safety kit)

6-7 hours of training, recapping on day 1 before taking a look at some basic rope work techniques, self rescue procedures as well as some more complex route finding techniques.

Day 3

10:00am – Meet your instructor and distribute kit (Harnesses, helmets, safety kit)

6 – 7 hours of training, covering the basics required to explore grade 2+ terrain, including techniques such as complex terrain navigation, basic rope work, protecting a second and route finding

Day 4

10:00am – Meet your instructor and distribute kit (Harnesses, helmets, safety kit)

6-7 hours of training, recapping on day 1 before increasing the difficulty of the terrain to grade 3/3+. Here we will look at more advanced rope work techniques, rescue procedures and advanced route finding for more complex terrain

16:00 pm – Depart

A private instructor for the duration of the course
All safety equipment eg. Harness, helmets and all safety kit (Feel free to bring your own helmet and harness if you would prefer)
Optional packed lunch

Although lunch is not included as standard, there are 2 packed lunch options available at an extra cost.
